Ashlee's Saturn Profile...

Ashlee's Saturn Profile

Saturn- Lessons and Responsibilities

Saturn is all about order. About being in the right place at the right time. Above all, Saturn is the necessity and force of circumstances and the lessons they impose, along with the sense of discipline and responsibility that is behind the learning of them. Saturn is about testing and pressure, and so it can be limiting and depressing as it delays and denies. Saturn is also order as it  is currently understood, that is, concrete reality, the status quo, or any form of authority such as parents, elders, teachers, and officialdom. So Saturn can be a sense of inadequately or inhibition for the simple reason that before we have learnt what we have to learn that is how we are most likely to feel. But Saturn is a sense of Achievement and status when we have learned those lessons well.

Saturn represents the part of us that needs to mature.  The ancients considered Saturn as father time, for after 3 rounds of a Saturn lifetime was usually ended. Saturn has been called the Grim Reaper, the energy that cuts us down. It can be, but primarily Saturn is a tester, the teacher who tests our maturity in the school of life. If we grow, mature, pass the tests of various life cycles, if we understand universal law, we find Saturn a friend. If we wish to cling to our childhood ideas and illusions, if we wish to remain ignorant of natural law, if we think the universe owes us a living, Saturn seems to generate fear and apprehension. The fear is not caused by Saturn but by our own inner apprehensions, for Saturn seems to relate to each individuals conscience. Somewhere within we inherently know when we have not cooperated with cosmic law.

Early in life, Saturn indicates the individual's weak point, the point of insecurity that can manifest on a physical level (including frail health) or on an intellectual level (indicating an apprehension regarding intellectual ability) or it can influence one's feeling of self worth. Children who don't feel worthy feel guilty about taking up space in the universe, for they are seldom recognized by anyone they consider to be an important authority figure early in the life.

According to the symbols of the unconscious, the first authority figure we meet is that of our father. If Saturn is poorly Aspected, it usually indicates that the father has an unhealthy or unconstructive impact on the developing child's psyche. The aspects Saturn makes to the personal planets in the horoscope begin to tell what effect the father has on which facet of the child's personality. That affect influences children's attitudes when they begin to pursue adult responsibilities; the influence can touch any part of the personality ranging from expressing sexuality, to career aspirations. Often the more psychologically based Saturn afflictions are best worked out in analysis for they may be time- consuming to uncover.

Saturn represents the mundane area in life that we regard with caution or what we approach with fear. The sign and house placement of Saturn is important. When Saturn is in the 5th house the apprehension does not involve new beginnings but rather, those matters indicated by the fifth house: there may be apprehension regarding taking risks, a fear of gambling, a fear of a love relationships, apprehension about entertaining, about having babies, about the children one has given birth to. Since the 5th house represents the children of our minds as well as those of our bodies, the Saturn caution may also include apprehension about the creative ability. we spend much time being cautious about Saturn, about our fears, that eventually they become our strong points and the Saturn location becomes an area of strength and maturity. AS we learn to face our fears and apprehensions, Saturn turns into a friend.

WE can often sure our fears when we observe how our father reacted in similar situations. Considering Saturn from a spiritual level, it has been mentioned that Jupiter and Saturn were the cross-over planets according to the ancients. IF we understand the concepts symbolized by these planets we can lift the consciousness to more evolved levels. Saturn, as tester, symbolizes that energy must be expressed in a responsible way; we cannot merely satisfy our personal drives in a willful fashion. They must be channeled to meet universal needs. In the natural zodiac, The Moon rules the fourth house and the sun the 5th, symbolizing that we are a combination of our environment (fourth) and our creative endeavor (fifth). In the ancient wheel Saturn opposes both the Sun and the Moon for it rules the sings of Capricorn and Aquarius. The universal forces do not inhibit self-expression, but they do not indulge selfish expression either. As we learn to express the self maturely, the energy becomes productive rather than restrictive.

Saturn aspects to the personal planets indicate the part of the personality that must mature in this life. Some people have consciously make an effort to express or develop facets of the personality; the difficulties will ne shown by the Saturn ties. These ties don't keep us from being, but emphasize the importance of that area of life. The more Saturn aspects people have, the more intense the need to break the ties with inherited experience and become self-responsible. When people break from the past, when they can free themselves to explore all the mystic images describing the process of maturity, the soul can assimilate the responsibility of a higher consciousness.

Saturn in Libra

You are learning the art of grace and harmony, to develop principles concerning relating and justice. Initially, the need to learn such lessons may manifest as a fear of being answerable to something or someone, or of having to subscribe to society's rules. Along the way, by way of compensation, you are therefore drawn to committing yourself up to the eyebrows, either financially, emotionally or both, or to trying to be all things to all people, or to being caught in the valley of decision.

So as time goes by, you should gradually and eventually acquire a sense of how to compromise without sacrificing your own or someone else's principles, how to be lighthearted yet at the same time sincere, and to make considered decisions. This could enable you to become an authority in what were are first possibly areas of weakness: fair play and keeping the peace without merely glossing over issues.

Saturn in the 5th house

These lessons and limitations bear most of all upon your individual means of self-expression. This includes anything that is a creative product of some outlet of yours, such as artwork, hobbies, children, games, romance, etc. SO delays, difficulties, duty, denial or heavy responsibilities are all possible in one or more of these areas. You are learning to go about such matters in a disciplined way, as if you have something to prove.

Until you do, little or nothing will be forthcoming. When you do, however- which would be through a gradual process- you can become quite an authority in that field. Overall, you tend to feel that your creative efforts, are being watched and judged. They are!- by yourself. As you are your own overseer, why not be a positive and generous one?

Saturn Retrogrades: The symbol, Personality, karma, sign and house

The Saturn symbol is composed of the Cross and the Crescent. Here matter and the form side of life must be united with the souls sincere desire to express itself. Thus, all that the individual does he crystalizes into what he is adding to his Soul nature. The value of things is seen by the Soul itself which must discriminate between what it wants to partake of and what it wants to avoid. As the individual looks at his life through his Saturn he may appear somber and serious but what he is doing is considering the relationships between idea and form. He concerns himself with his ability to see how mush of his soul he can actually manifest with matter. Thus, it becomes important for him to view his deeds as a reflections of his true inner being.

The retrograde nature of this planet causes him to experience much of this reflection as an inner struggle between the consciousness of his ideals, their practicality, and his ability to live up to them. Thus, for many, the retrograde Saturn becomes their conscious and their guide, blending as a mediator between the perfected higher being and how much it must still learn in order to live here on Earth.

Personality

This individual with Retrograde Saturn is intensely serious about completing whatever he has left undone in his past. He tends to want to go backwards in order to fill any gaps in what he had hastily considered finished before. As such, he tends to be thoughtful and steady. At times he may seem overly cautious of too frugal, but any reserve on his part is based entirely on his need to conserve substance for purposeful use. He does not believe in waste or extravagance for he has experienced that in other lives. Now he is deeply appreciative of everything he learns or receives. Often he feels an inner debt to GOD which manifest itself as a powerful sense of gratitude for all he sees around him.

He tries to teach others, who are less knowledgeable or experienced than himself. Yet, he is unsuccessful if they have not gone through his past life " fall from heaven" and his great struggle which has now earned him his way back. AS a result of this, there is built in maturity in the Retrograde Saturn that one could not have achieved without great personal struggle and sacrifice.

Karma

Retrograde Saturn always indicates a continuing Karma from past incarnations. Whatever the lesson, the individual is unusually slow in bringing it to completion. Thus, in this life he needs to carry the extra weight in his Soul of a former life so that when the two ultimately combine there will be enough evidence for him to fully understand his true mission. Much of what he does in this life is a repeat of his Saturn already stands for. But now he faces circumstances and situations that are slightly different. The retrograde action of the planet can make him feel its restrictive force, particularly if he tries to escape the weight of its lesson. But, if he flows with it, understanding that through the patient guidance he is receiving, he is slowly being led to identification with something higher than he may have imagined, he can truly appreciate the workings of Gods beautiful universe through this planet.

Saturn is one's teacher and when it appears Retrograde, the individual has experienced similar teachings before this life. As the years unfold there is an enormous amount of wisdom that steadily ours from the Retrograde Saturn.

Of all the planets, it is the most natural and comfortable in its Retrograde position, for it affords the individual a kind of second chance to improve on the relationship formed between his Soul, the circumstances he was faced with in a past incarnation, and how these were understood. Now under the gentle guidance of Saturn, he is able to out into form all that he has learned in the past.

Retrograde Saturn in Libra

In this placement Retrograde Saturn adds inner maturity to the otherwise indecisive qualities of Libra. The individual feels a strong responsibility to others. Often he experiences their Karma more than they do themselves. Naturally this can throw him off balance. In the long run his judgment is quite sound and he is able to steady himself.

A born peacemaker, he is often thrown into the middle of opposing people ore ideas. From this position he tries to bring harmony by establishing a balanced third point which expresses the positive aspect of both sides.

He has the ability to actually change and alter the Karmic directions of these people he comes in contact with. As a result of meeting him they begin to re-evaluate and weigh proportionately their own past beliefs and the direction they had been moving in, Thus, for many, this placement gives an opportunity to take an objective look at their purpose in life so that their validity may be re-assessed. For the individual with Retrograde Saturn in Libra life is a series of turns and twists until he understands that his Karmic mission in this incarnation is not for himself, but rather to help direct others to a more balanced purpose. This is done by setting an example of balance through harmonizing the apparent opposites of thought. He brings this about by finding the essential unity of human ideals.

His adaptability allows him to change from one Retrograde Phase to another depending completely upon the need of the moment. Thus, he is truly one of God's most versatile and valuable helpers.

Retrograde Saturn in the 5th House

With this placement the individual feels a strong need to overcome obstacles that he perceives in his creative process. He keeps feeling that he should be doing more in life than he actually is, but he tends to delay much of his productive output until later in life. He feels a need to create something of lasting value in order to feel a sense of purpose. In some cases, he will have to bear a heavy burden in terms of paying a karmic debt to a child. still, if he can do this, it will help him to established the sense of purpose he is seeking.

He tends to stymie himself, actually slowing down any real progress in life, because he has inner fears of commitments. Still, no matter how much he would rather be an observer of life, he keeps falling into one situation after another where the full weight of responsibility is put on him. The more he seeks pleasure, the more responsibility he finds himself carrying. In great measure, this is to teach him what life is really about.

Love matters prosper slowly for there is a great deal of maturing to take place before an intimate relationship can flow smoothly. The individual has many self-doubts when it comes to expressing his creative abilities. He doesn't really think he can measure up to other's standards. Thus, he forbids himself much that he really needs. He can turn probabilities that he could attain into such obstacles that they become too remote from his life for him actually to reach them.

He worries too much over childhood inadequacy fears which are still operating in his unconscious. Karmically, he must learn how to stop perpetuating fears which block his creative flow. AS soon as he can do this, he will not only overcome many of his obstacles, but he can also make an important contribution to mankind.

Limitation, Discipline and Organization Distract You from the Pursuit of Your Destiny, Talents and Resources

Saturn square the Moon’s Nodes suggests that you have difficulty pursuing your life's destiny lesson and/or properly utilizing your karmically derived talents and resources while at the same time developing/employing self-discipline and/or a sense of limits and organization.  Paradoxically, it is just these Saturnian skills that are likely to assist you in fulfilling the destiny symbolized by the Nodes. You tend to concentrate either on your past/destiny or on learning the lessons symbolized by Saturn's placement. Both are manifestations of karmic imperatives, and therefore this configuration suggests that you bear conflicting karmas in this life. Your strongest tendency is likely for you to become absorbed in the Saturnian sphere—issues that revolve around self-discipline, structure and organization, overcoming insecurity and dealing with life's karmic lessons.  In becoming so self-absorbed in this area of life, however, you are in danger of losing your opportunity to pursue a unique destiny or to make full use of your talents and resources. You may not pursue these opportunities due to over caution or lack of spontaneity.  If, on the other hand, you force yourself to focus on matters of destiny or developing your talents, you may find yourself hampered by insufficient discipline and organization, or by your need to overcome severe obstacles. You can realize the transcendent potential of Saturn square the Moon’s Nodes when, through struggling with the challenge presented by this configuration, you perceive the karmic (and practical) links between the development of the Saturnian function, your destiny and your wise use of natural talents and resources.  You recognize that, at a level of increased awareness, you must attend to the Nodal imperatives within a structured and super-ego contained environment. Therefore, you must develop strength, order and self-discipline. You also perceive that in developing your Saturnian qualities, you are making necessary progress toward the goals of achieving your life destiny and employing your karmic resources properly.  Yet, you are aware of the distinctions among these three functions and you provide a space for each in your life and psyche.  As you diligently focus on integrating these tasks, the balancing that you must achieve among them becomes easier. Without a strong will or sense of yourself beyond your ego-persona, you will likely become compulsively absorbed in your Saturn function.  Thus, Saturnian qualities are likely to be pronounced in your personality, especially the more negative characteristics such as rigidity, rule-bound conformity, and authoritarianism.  Another reaction you may have is to sink into your insecurity.  In this state, you may cast the blame on others for your failure to achieve your destiny or to exercise your talents.  You may have a highly critical nature.  Your criticism may become more aggressive due to your innate sense of your own weakness, which sets you up into a defensive mode.

Putting it all Together:

It is Actually this planet that has taught me so much about myself, my karma and my life purpose. My life has not by any means been an easy one; there was a lot of sacrifices, obstacles, and hindrances that have plagued me since I was born into this world. Since then I have made a constant effort to right myself in all that I was lacking- If only to shut my father up about how much of a weakling that I was. I tried to escape my destiny; scoffed and laughed at my fate and said screwed universal laws. Turns out I was punished for having those horrible thoughts and actions. I pay extremely close attention to everything now as a result of this humungous Karma slap. It was always my fault- even from my past incarnations, but I blamed it on others and I heavily suffered for it. I started out as not being wanted. Continuously misunderstood by the people in my life but I persafuckingvered and become the Goddess that you now see before you. I worked on myself; on the lessons that I skipped and had to learn later. I had to unlearn all of my father's negative tendencies that he was forcing me to learn. I had to stand up for myself and fight back against all of the tyranny that my father ruled me with and I began to accept that I wasn't perfect. That I wasn't going to be put down and beaten into submission because my view differed than his. I took all of his punishments, the beatings, the verbal abuse and I turned it into my strengths. I was forged out of the fires of Hell and came through on the other side. Went through the light to acknowledge that I am a good person; that my soul does matter and it does have a purpose- to show others that they are stronger than they think that they are. That by me setting a positive example of living my truths I have begun to heal my Karma and hopefully this will be my last Incarnation.

It was only recently that I accepted my higher self and stopped running away from my Destiny. I see now that I just had to accept the fact that I am here to do something that only I can do... and that is to help people objectively find their life missions.

Saturn: Shaina's Governing Planet...

After exploring Shaina's big 3 we have come to learn much about her but we still have a long way to go if we are to understand the birth chart fully. If we look at the sign in which Shaina's Sun is in we see that it is in Capricorn; ruled by the planet Saturn. Some words to describe this planet would be practicality, status, suppressing, and establishing boundaries. To take it a step further and tie it in to what we have already discovered just re worded to fit this discussion:

Saturn's connection to the Sun
The Sun, which is in its natural house, should reflect the "I am" qualities of the Sun- generosity, heart, a heroine, and the radiance of life.  It is manifested to  take on the traits of Leo- creating, dominating, confident, playing and being romantic which is similar to what Shaina shows to the world as her persona (ascendant). This is where it gets tricky. Shaina should be this queenly royal person that leads through love and admiration but here in lies the problem: Her Sun was shining farther away from the Earth at her time of birth; the "curse" of being born in the winter; never knowing the true power of the Sun and how bright it can truly shine. Not knowing the warmth one feels when being born during the summer when the sun is the closest. For the winter is cold and harsh; and it forces you to grow up quickly... which is one or the many reasons that she has a hint of apprehension towards everyone and a faint glimmer of coldness in her eye.
The Sun also represents the how the physical father manifests himself when our personality is forming: how we feel about him and what kind of value system we were exposed to. Since it is in Capricorn during this time Shaina's father was somehow limiting and restricting towards her. Due to the positioning of the sun in the 5th house we see where and how the father was restrictive and limiting- in her creativity, self-expression, fun and games, and her passions. Her father was the one who instilled what he "thought" was a healthy dose of fear in her which he used to control her. Her interactions with father taught her that she doesn't like authority figures, that she needs to be highly objective and by putting pressure on her make her feel inadequate as a child. With the conjunction to Mercury we see that her father is the reason that she communicates, talks, hears, and learns the same way that he did. This is not a normal thing to have this much influence over Shaina since she is after all born under a Mother-dominant environment.

Let's take a look into the actual Saturn profile and get a clearer picture of what we are looking at...

Saturn: Shaina's Governing Planet
Shaina's planet that is ruled by her sun sign has to with lessons and responsibility. Saturn is all about order; necessity and a force of circumstances (karma) and the lessons that they impose with a sense of discipline and responsibility that is behind the learning of them. Saturn is all about teaching you life lessons so that you may become more refined. It tests and puts pressure on a person so it can be limiting and depressing as it delays and denies. It can also represent the concrete reality, the status quo or anything that takes the form of authority: parents, teachers, elders, and officialdom. This planet can also give a sense of inadequatecy or inhibition yet is also the one that gives the sense of achievement and status when we have learned our lessons well. Saturn is indicative of that part of us that needs to mature. If we grow, mature, pass the tests at various life cycles, if we understand universal law, this planet is a friendly one. But if the person still clings to their childhood ideas and illusions, if they wish to remain ignorant of natural law, if we seem to think that Saturn owes us a living it instills fear and inner apprehensions because it relates to the individuals conscious. deep down we know that somehow we didn't cooperate into cosmic law.
This planet is also an indicator of a person's weak points early in life; the point of insecurity that can manifest on a physical level which could mean ill heath or on an intellectual level indicating an apprehension regarding intellectual ability or it can influence one's feeling of self-worth. Children who don't feel worthy feel guilty about taking up space in the universe (more reinforcement of "it is better to be seen and not heard" mentality) for they are seldom recognized by anyone they consider to be an important authority figure early in the life.

Saturn in Scorpio
Shaina is learning to handle and express effectively any kind of power, be it sexual, political, personal, material, occult or whatever. Initially the need to learn these lessons will appear as a fear or disdain  of being deeply involved, of psychology and the unconscious mind, for such things threaten her feelings of control. For the same reason fear of death itself could be an issue since it is the ultimate power in life. She finds herself getting caught up in anything powerfully influential, or compulsive, or that breaks taboos. As time goes by Shaina will learn how to gradually acquire a sense of how to manage intimate relationships and critical, life and death situations which will enable her to become an authority of what was once her weak points: sexuality, death and power with ruthless but just efficentcy.

Saturn in the 4th
The environment was harsh, cold and extremely formal in early childhood; the effect of the father on Shaina's Psyche will manifest as some apprehension of making a home one's own subconsciously fearing that they may inadvertently create the same home environment as an adult if they attempt to establish a parental experience. The lessons that need to be learnt mainly focus on Shaina's inner life and home, and the sense of order that was laid down during the formative early years- By the father. If that sense was absent or restrictive, she will go around with an inner feeling that somethings is missing or not good enough. She'll then become dependant upon having a very stable domestic security to compensate. at some point Shaina will have to reestablish and reaffirm her sense of belonging which was not forthcoming as a child. If this has been had been the other extreme Shaina's early life might have been highly structured in a supportive way, giving her an inner sense of being in the right place at the right time.

Aspects to Saturn
Saturn Trine Mercury
Mercury is the symbol of outgoing communication, the mind, ideas, the five senses. Saturn represents the law, tradition, the psychological influence of the father, our ideas of caution based on apprehensions that we may have absorbed from the early father image. It indicates that Shaina takes her words seriously, that inhibitions or traditions taught to her by her father will affect her ability to communicate. It places restrictions on her confidence regarding her ability to communicate even it is a soft aspect. This type of energy shows us that Shaina is a person who is kind of serious, dependable and often hardworking. A certain type of loneliness can be inferred for when communication is restricted limitations may be placed on the ability to share thoughts. With a Trine being in place here the energy reveals that she was exposed to a father image that helps her learn to communicate, even though family communication tends to be on the serious side but will follow through on details, work well with the general public, and have well ordered mind.

Saturn Semi Square Neptune
When these two planets combine, tradition and father influence are tied to the concept of creativity and spiritual love. The father image becomes cloudy because Neptune brings illusion to anything that it touches. This can manifest as either some delusion or inspiration about ones own roots. It can indicate who has the skeletons in their closet or one who worships the family. also someone who wants to explore the creative consciousness or one who is afraid of it. Sometimes Neptune can add additional apprehensions and paranoia's to the exploration of the Saturn fears then the exploration becomes more difficult. In order to take our place in the universe one must become conscious of the effect that our father had on us; mythologically explore the concept of the father, by understanding the physical man that is the personal father to the mythic symbolism of heredity as it forms the basis of tradition. Neptune represents the spiritual love and the universal creative urges. When hard aspects are involved it could mean that the ability to free one's self from the bonds of tradition become arduous but the labor is well worth it.
Shaina may have been born into a family that has illusions or delusions regarding the father, heredity or family influence. The father will affect Shaina's concept of creativity, perhaps impeding the development of some form of creative expression. Influence of the father will work against her dreams and goals, or even the development of her spiritual goals.  This aspect may indicate a person that has to pull away from the family experience in order to find herself. She may not see authority figures for what they are; she may be supportive of people who disappoint her.

Saturn squaring Ascendant
(covered in Shaina's Big 3 Aspected)

Saturn opposing Mid Heaven
Due to the nature of this aspect it is another reinforcement of how Shaina's father's early childhood influence has taken a toll on her. whatever her father instilled in her is what is keeping her from being the person that she needs to be in her professional life.

Putting it all Together:
Taking a look at the Saturn profile really gave us some insight into Shaina's fears and how they came about. Again it is important to note that Shaina has a lot of fatherly influence over her even though she was born under a mother dominant sign. This also reinforces the fact that Shaina's Leo/ Capricorn problem goes far deeper than just what lies on the surface of the Big 3 discussion. It was the image that her father imposed on her as a child that still haunts her into adulthood and it is that memory of him that hinders Shaina. When we look at the whole of it we see that mommy and daddy's treatment of Shaina was hard on her development as a child. The home environment wasn't a very comforting one where she felt that she didn't belong. Along with other factors we see that if Shaina wants to get over these blocks she will have to face her father on mulitiple levels that may bring up a lot of things that the family doesn't want to discuss.

Saturn: Richard's Limiting Planet

Saturn: Richard's Restrictor

Last blog we looked into the Mother's psyche around the time the Richard was born till the age of 3. (Venus profile) Now we will see the father's psyche and how that affected Richard in his early life. Normally this would be considered an outer planet but since it has so many aspects to the inner planets (Mercury, Venus, Mars) we will view it as a personal planet. Like the sun representing the Father or the father figure, Saturn takes on the authoritative role.

Some people have taken it to mean the person in your life that limits you or restricts you in some way. I tend to lean more on the side that Saturn's energy is more so to test you and see if you learning from your life. Some astrologers believe that Saturn's energy is likened to a Grim reaper- the energy that cuts one down. This Planetary energy gets a bad wrap. Saturn is like teacher trying to get you through this lesson so that you can build upon the foundations and learn more. Every time that you successfully pass one of Saturn's lessons you get a little bit closer to learning the universal laws that govern this world. When you do not pass or haven't learned any of the lessons Saturn can be a cruel teacher indeed. when the person isn't willing to give up their childhood ideas and illusions, allowing ourselves to remain ignorant of natural laws, if we think that the universe owes us a living Saturn seems to generate fear and apprehension within us. This energy isn't coming from Saturn specifically; it relates to the consciousness and lets us inherently know that we are not complying with cosmic law.

Early in our life Saturn Reveals the individuals weak points, points of insecurity that can manifest in a psychical manner (frail health) in an intellectual manner (apprehension regarding intellectual abilities) or it can influence one's own sense of self worth. children who do not feel worthy feel guilty about taking up space in the universe, for they are seldom recognized by anyone that they would consider to be an important authority figure in their life. Since Saturn is poorly aspected (lots of hard aspects) it shows that Richard's father had a unhealthy or nonconstructive impact on Richard's psyche. These influences don't show up til Richard starts taking on more adult responsibilities: ranging from expressing sexuality to career aspirations.

Saturn represents the mundane area in life that we regard with caution or approach with fear. For it is the energy that must be expressed in a responsible way; They must be channeled to meet the universal needs and not our personal drives in a willful fashion. Saturn also monitors all of the destructive behavior in the universe. The universal flow requires us to be responsible for our selves; if we aren't the irresponsibility will have to be ironed out. Again when we see Saturn impacting personal planets it shows that part of the personality that must mature in this life. Some people have to make a conscious effort to express or develop facets of the personality; the difficulties will be shown by the Saturn ties. These ties emphasize the importance of that life area not ties that keep us from being. The more aspects one has to Saturn the more one needs to intensely break the ties with the inherited experience and become self-responsible. When people can break from the past, when they can free themselves to explore all of the mythic images describing the process of maturity, the soul can assimilate the responsibility of higher consciousness.

Saturn in Libra
Since Saturn represents order, necessity, force of circumstances and the lessons that they impose. Naturally it brings along the sense of discipline and responsibility  behind learning the lesson. Saturn is about testing and pressure which can make the energy limiting and depressing as it delays or denies. Any form of authority like parents, elders, teachers, and officialdom. Making inadequacy and inhibition normal feelings if we haven't learned our lessons yet and a sense of Achievement and Status when we have learned the lessons well.

With that being said when Saturn is in Libra, Richard is learning the art, grace, and harmony to develop principles concerning relating and justice. Initially, the need to learn such lessons may manifest as a fear of being answerable to something or someone, or having to subscribe to society's rules. Along the way, by way of compensation, drawn to committing yourself up to the eyebrows, either financially, emotionally, or both trying to be all things to all people or to be caught up in the valley of decisions. Richard needs to learn how to gradually and eventually acquire a sense of how to compromise without sacrificing his own or someone Else's principles, how to be lighthearted yet at the same time sincere, and to make considered decisions. This could enable Richard to become an authority in what were at first possibly areas of weakness: fair play and keeping the peace without merely glossing over issues.

Saturn in the 10th house
this is Saturn's Natural house. It actually rules the 10th house so when it is placed here it means that Richard's lessons and necessities are very obvious and make their self obvious. this is because Richard feels that he definitely needs to amount to something in life and therefore set about pursuing the goals and dealing with the challenges of the material world, or he feels rather weak in the face of the world at large and settle for being no one in particular. This is based off of his mother's influence in particular; due to her ambitions or fears, her confidences or doubts, got readily passed down to him.

Richard must make an attempt to amount to something in this world for that is Richard's test-bed of his life; worldly success is suppose to be his and could well be so but if his ambitions are someone Else's or they have been suppressed by self-doubt you will first have to fall or sink very low before you realize the true meaning and importance of amounting to something.

Aspects of Saturn
Saturn Semi square Moon
indicates that emotional responses cannot be totally selfish. Richard's fearful emotions can get in the way of his being objective about those demands. the hopeless child within Richard collapses in the face of them. So Richard must get touch with the adult inside of him and coolly manage the situation. Yet at the same time don't loose sight of the child in you, your soul, for that was probably not noticed or validated by parents or teachers in the first place.

This aspect is a hard one. It reflects the mother, her emotional reactions to her environment and how they are affected by the attitudes of the father during Richard's formative years. Due to this contact Richard feels that emotional reactions cannot or shouldn't be displayed; that all authority figures (the father, other males introduced into life later, and any person in authority) can restrict  and restrain the emotional nature. this can bring on a depressive energy and bring out melancholia- viewing life through a glass darkly. Richard needs to learn to express his emotions in a constructive manner and that emotional involvements also include joy as well as sorrow that is all too often found.

Richard's father definitely thwarted Richard's mother's personal expression. He may have been the type of person that delighted in restricting and limiting the female. Richard sees in his early years that mother's don't have a chance to do what they want to do, can't pursue anything that interests them without being harassed by the father. since these psychological games weren't lost onto Richard because his father often thwarted him as well as mom and poured cold water all over Richard's childhood enthusiasm. Being a male Richard feels that women aren't to be trusted,  that an emotional responses aren't given freely, that one doesn't respond spontaneously, the father's attitude and gestures toward the mother prevent Richard from developing easy emotional relationships. Manifesting as he's to masculine to care, to be emotional, to be responsive. As an adult he will offer love and then take it back; the woman who loves him will find that he opens up, responds to her and then withdrawals. Richard doesn't let loose with his emotions because he is trying to barricade himself against being hurt.

In order to begin the healing process Richard must learn to understand that he draws in relationships similar to that of his parents. Depressions and melancholia associated with relationships as well as suffering and a lack of emotional fulfillment. Emotional needs aren't to be confused with sexual needs here, for Richard can be involved in a satisfactory sexual relationships but their emotional needs are unfulfilled. Their parents are usually incapable of understanding them. He'll choose mates that are either far above or below them in terms of education, cultural or social economic backgrounds. Lack of understanding caused by too great a gap in either direction may cause hurt feelings, and barriers begin to pop up. This aspect causes Richard to feel like he has to give up something in order to have a relationship. Richard keeps falling back into the cycle that his parents created for him: unhappiness, emotional depression, a feeling that he cannot have what he wants. Saturn-moon afflictions cause a lack of joy. Life is seen as difficult. Joy needs to be nurtured.

Actions is seriously considered, well thought out, not particularly restrictive, but Richard will seem very mature at a young age.Richard was taught to think more than most children. This will make Richard a dedicated and loyal employee, who makes careful decisions, who's highly organized, and who does well in traditional management or big business. Richard won't rush into a relationship; he relates only when  he has thought out all of the possibilities of the situation, then he will slowly move throughout his goals. it indicates that Richard tends to be loyal sexually and emotionally, who feels  a strong bond of responsibility regarding sexual relationships.

Putting it all together
We see from Saturn's influence that there are a lot of lessons that Richard had trouble de cyphering at a young age; his parents relationship and his place within it. The limiting factor of his father and how that played a huge role on his mother as well as himself. Richard grew up watching his father limit his mother almost in the same manner as Richard's father did to him. With all of this going on Richard was learning that women aren't equal to men; that a woman's needs come after the father's if they even come at all. This left no room for Richard in his parents life. He didn't understand why his father wouldn't allow him to do things as a child or letting his mother do the things that she wanted. Seeing how this affected his mother Richard decided to side with his mother. Learning that women aren't good. That there is something about them to be feared, not to trust their emotions and that their thoughts and feelings do not matter because that's how my father views them. Without a balanced way for Richard to see the masculine and the feminine his self- worth, self- values, and any effort made to be an individualized person went out the door. So Richard learned how to watch others and get an idea of how to function on an intellectual basis; not an emotional one. Any interactions that Richard has to a degree are based on subconscious memories that he has carried with him into adulthood; all of his preconceived notions that he learned from mom and dad can be seen within every aspect of his life. Richard grew up feeling alone and unable to relate to others due to his fear of what his parents might say. When he wanted to express himself in a positive way there was always someone (mom, dad, teacher, older person) there making sure that he didn't. So when Richard feels like sharing anything you can see him going through the motions of wanting to say it, going to say it and then not saying it with a look of being internally torn apart. Because Richard puts so much value into this childhood memory and refused to let it go, he will have a tremendous time trying to figure out what he wants vs what his parents wanted for him and who he is without the negativity that he received in his childhood. in doing so he will be able to pursue an actual relationship where there is more than just assuming a role.

When Richard is in a relationship he will instinctively remember and think back to his parent's relationship. When this happens Richard needs to remind himself that this relationship in his head isn't a good relationship basis for comparison. As an adult if Richard chooses to look back and see his parent's relationship for what it truly was- not a very good one worthy of taking with me into adulthood he can begin to make the necessary changes needed to build and work on having a true relationship that encourages nurturing healthy and supportive words to one another, where feelings are heard, acknowledged and talked about in an openly and warming environment, but most importantly, Richard learns that relationships are safe; something to keep sacred and loyal, and that it is okay to be one's self when it comes to loving another being.
