Ashlee's Mercury: The Retrograde, The Sign, House and Aspects

Mercury: The Retrograde, The Sign, House and Aspects

Since Gemini is ruled by Mercury I thought that it would be a good idea to start there.

Mercury- Perception and Mentality

Mercury symbolizes reason and the thinking function and the ability to make contact, whether this is externally via communication and perception or internally in the form of your nervous system. Wit and speed, dexterity, and the capacity for learning- and therefore employment and commerce- are the essence of Mercury. Negatively, Mercury can make for over-rationalization, leading to dryness and a lack of feeling, as well as sleight of hand and sharpness of tongue, including sarcasm and cynicism as Mercury can block or be blind to empathy, belief or intuition.

Gemini and Virgo are the mercurial signs in the zodiac: Gemini symbolizes the presentation of ideas, mental curiosity, the development of the mind, the concept of the new, the logos. Virgo represents the feminine side of Mercury and, as with all feminine signs, symbolizes the ability to apply what has been learned on many levels to the world of actual being.

Mercury in the personal charts indicates our five physical senses (touch, taste, hearing, sight, smell) and how they work, as well as how we communicate. Blocks in communication indicate that we are unwilling to share, or we may be afraid to share, or we may not be able to hear. The aspects to Mercury suggest the communication difficulties that may have occurred in the early life; they also suggest difficulties we may have as adults because we never learned to discuss things properly, or fairly, or at all, in our early childhood environment.  Stress is laid on the parental influence because we are a species of imitators. When parents don't communicate, children don't have a chance to see others communicate. When there are blocking aspects to Mercury, communication will be an experience that a child may have to learn if he wishes to share experience with others.

This is known as the trickster mechanism within the unconscious. Our mind asks us questions and argues with us. Sometimes there seems to be a "little person" in our heads, someone who argues with every decision we make. Sometimes that "person" leads us astray, sometime it is a valuable critic. WE have to determine its place in our life. Some have called this "little person" the conscious.

Mercury in Gemini

Your mind is efficient in that it is quick and precise, but its quality is only as good as what you feed it with. You can be eloquent or just gossip, cleaver or facile, fluent or flippant. It all depends on what you read and the people that you mix with. To avoid incipient nervousness and restlessness, and possible mischief making, it is equally important that you actually have something worth while to do. This should not be too difficult for you are a fast learner and can lend your native wits and dexterity to any number of jobs, especially those that involve the use of your tongue or hands.

Mercury in the 12th House

During some period in your past, even before birth, you somehow gained the impression that these mental capabilities of yours were inadequate because you were overwhelmed by an emotional force of some kind. As a result of this- or rather what caused it- you have a mind that can pick up all sorts of intimations, vibrations and undercurrents. These can either haunt you  and impair clear think in, or be useful in determining a subtle way through difficulties, for yourself or those who need it. Establishing regular intervals of retreat- when you may restore your mental composure and safety open your mind to those unconscious powers of the imagination which you are especially privy to- is essential. You have a channeling mind and are therefore prone to "voices in the head" If such is the case you have to determine whether such are friendly or not.

Retrograde Mercury: The symbol, Personality, Karma, Retro in Gemini and House

The symbol of Mercury is formed by the circle of Spirit resting between the crescent of Soul and the Cross of Matter shows that man achieves union between these three essential parts of himself by understanding how they integrate in all of his creative expression. The crescent on top symbolizes the Soul which is actively pouring itself outwardly by pushing its ideas downward further to the Cross of Matter. In order for this process to work, man must achieve the understanding that all knowing comes from the highest plane and gradually sifts down to the lowest. When a man is in tune with himself all of his knowledge originates in his Soul and then by penetrating his Spirit seeks its outward expression through the actions of his body and his responses to the body of form he sees in the world around him. Thus, men's expression is greatly dependent upon his perception is very much under the domain of Mercury's rulership.

Man can use Mercury to experience his Soul, express his Sprit or fulfill the needs of his body. He may actively express himself based entirely upon his Divine Essence and thereby view the whole world as the experience of Soul in all things. Or he may seek to actively express himself through the Spirit, thereby coloring his perception of the world around him as vivid moving kaleidoscope of life. Or his third possibility is that he mat seek to use all expression in terms of fulfilling his physical needs. Therefore, he may see the world around him as material and physical.

When Mercury appears to be retrograde the natural polarity of Soul over spirit over Matter becomes inverted. The individual is most concerned with the form of his life as well as understanding the form of all things around him. Then through his perception of whether such form either fits or contradicts the ideas of form he established in himself through prior incarnations he reacts to Spirit. Finally when form is satisfied, and Spirit is activated he achieves contentment with form and allows himself to experience his Soul.

It is this trinity of Soul, Spirit, and Matter that makes Mercury the most important planet in terms of how an individual perceives his total life experience.

The Personality

When Mercury appears retrograde in the horoscope the individual's conscious mind is capable of tapping ideas in the universal consciousness from prior times. Usually, he is unaware he is doing this, but what he is aware of is that he cannot easily make others understand all he knows. In part this is because of the inversion of Mercury's symbol in which the importance of matter takes precedence over Spirit and Soul. This causes the individual to become preoccupied with the form of his ideas. And this acts as a block to the essence of his knowledge.

In addition, his wavelength is slightly different from the rest of society in terms of his mental life. Thought processes tend to repeat like an endless record, and as a result most of the things he creates are in different shapes or forms, carbon copies of what he has already done. When he speaks, he has difficulty projecting the exact telepathic pictures which convey the meanings of his thoughts. Thus, he often feels misunderstood and wonders why others do not always see things the way he does.

He believes himself more separated from society than a person with direct motion Mercury might. And as a result, he tries desperately to develop contact with others to the point that he often overemphasizes his ideas until they can actually become an annoyance to those around him. Uncomfortable in company, he tries too hard to win the acceptance of others. Still at the slightest hint of rejection, he can give up too easily. Ultimately he learns that his safety is in growing more detached and impersonal than those people with direct-motion Mercury. This is often interpreted by others as a "coldness" but it is merely the vibration of the retrograde Mercury which is so obviously disharmonious with direct motion vibrations. Underneath the apparent wall, this individual is a lot more sensitive than most people would realize.

Once the communication barrier is passed, there is a tremendous amount of insight that comes out of the retrograde. To make this easier, the retrograde individual should not try to make the form of his life fit into the ideas and opinions of others around him. Instead he can find more comfort in being grateful for his rather unique way of seeing things.

In areas that require concentration, this individual can be an excellent student even though it might take him a little longer to grasp the ideas and principles. In the end he will know the subject more thoroughly and with much grater insight and depth than the individual with direct-motion Mercury. This occurs because he is literally ignores nothing. In areas of learning he is unwilling to skip over a point that leaves him questioning. Regardless of the impatience of others in a classroom situation he will constantly go back to some past question until the answer rests clearly.

He is a natural in the study of history, where the backwards study of man's nature gives an understanding of how one might predictably act in the future. Liking to teach others through his different sense of perspective, he has the ability to make one aware of past details that are needed in the present in order to recapture and put together puzzle pieces which would otherwise be missing. To do this, he always seems to be fighting a natural flow of things, which leads him to be misunderstood by those close to him. This causes nervousness and irritability when enough of a buildup triggers feelings of separation from those he wishes to be close to.

Because he is drawing on overlooked but still useful ideas from the past, he tends to come into contact with those individuals who are running ahead into the future so fast that they are missing many pieces behind them. He can fill this gap for them, as soon as they stop to listen.

Dealing with different time periods all at the same time, the retrograde Mercury individual is acting like a funnel and an interpreter. Always there is a powerful message, but he will shy away from giving it unless he feels accepted at the moment. In the area of sexuality, this placement makes it difficult to establish a smooth flowing communication with the opposite sex.

Karma

The individual with retrograde Mercury is here to experience an unresolved karma in relationships. He has a tendency to react to others as if they symbolize people from his past. Thus, he has difficulty keeping the full focus of his consciousness in the 'here and now'

usually this manifests as difficulties with family and relatives. but the question of relationships goes beyond how one communicates with people. it also involves ones perception of the universe as a whole. Often there is a problem inherent in the retrograde in terms of seeing what might be called an inverted reality. The individual has difficulty understanding the very basic relationship between cause and effect. He questions the very essence of life itself, yet he cannot often see the most simple links between things, circumstances, and people. Losing himself in thought which is beyond comprehension he must learn to be content with the very basic simplicities upon which life is founded. So intent is he on discovering that which is beyond understanding that he nearly always misses the obvious.

From a karmic point of view then, this individual must learn how to focus his attention on the reality of the present rather than loosing himself in all of the transparent overlays he perceives. Once he can do this, he will be able to establish a firm reference point in the here and now through which all of the discoveries he makes can be expressed to the outer world.

Retrograde Mercury in Gemini

here, the individual experiences the mutable adaptability of Gemini as it acts on Retrograde Mercury moving through its three phrases. Because of the dual nature of the sign, and its intense quest for understanding, along with a chameleon-like changeability according to external influences, this individual is able to experience comfort during each one of the three phrases.

Actually, he is on different thought planes at the same time. This ability to experience different frequencies of thought simultaneously makes it possible for him to deal with hypocrites better than any other zodiacal placement. He can be unusually agile communicator even though his thoughts sometimes seem a bit disjointed. This is because although he can have difficulties pulling things together, he has a great ability to see the essence of an idea instantly.

He is good at writing poetry and music but sometimes gets himself into mental mazes by attempting to test his thinking powers. In some instances there is a past life residue of a relationship with a brother or a sister. And when obvious difficulties in that area continue in the present life, he still keeps trying to resolve the past incarnation by working it out through the present actors. His karma is in relationships with others, and all he goes through in this life is part of his learning to understand the nature of duality within himself. His greatest strength is the fact that he is a born student, and while it may take him longer to learn something that the individual with direct-motion Mercury he will ultimately understand it on a deeper level.

Retrograde Mercury in the 12th House

Here the retrograde spend most of his time in phrase 3 of the retrograde process, where in absorbing introspective vibration he turns most of his thoughts inward to understand the inner nature of his own being. In this very special placement, every conscious thought is Karmic. All the individual perceives is a continuance of past ideas in his mind concerning the relationship of things, people and circumstances in the universe. He tends to draw into himself and on the personality level becomes introverted. Still, he is thinking all the time. He tends to replay past conversations for days and weeks after they have actually occurred. in a way he is experiencing the pure essence of perception in its rawest form. For most individuals this is very difficult to handle.
His frequent disorientation with time and space knows no boundaries, and often goes beyond the borderlines of the current life, as well as the planet that he is currently living on. He can be mystically oriented as he tries to perceive the universe through himself. Thus her tends to experience in his own life anything he allows himself to think about. Truly this is the individual who has become exactly what he thought.

He is nearly always misunderstood by others, for the Neptunian essence of his ideas becomes awkward as he tries to express it to others through the absorbing introverted phrase 3 of the retrograde process. He underestimates himself, tending to retreat from life rather than easily expressing himself outwardly. Some with this position have great musical ability as words often seem inadequate means of expression, thereby leading the person to other creative areas of expressing themselves. On the negative side, some with this position  can experience long periods of mental depression, during which time they are attempting to sort out the multitude of thoughts they are absorbing from the formless universe. This individual is here to karmically understand himself on the very deepest of levels. In order to do this, he spends much time away from the many outer world activities which would otherwise prevent him from seeing the seed of his inner being. Thus, he avoids the lighter side of life and focuses much of his attention on the deep mysteries that confront his inner mind He is quite a student of the past and can become an excellent metaphysician when he directs his mental energies towards universal knowing.

Putting it All Together:

Thanks to my 12th house Gemini aspects you can see that my greatest gift is my mind. Its unlike most in the sense that I think 8 times faster than most people. I am able to jump from one conversation to another with ease and the retrograde gives me the ability to "put peoples missin gpuzzle pieces back in order" My mind allows me to see what cannot be seen within people as if it was normal. this is why I am caring and nurturing towards people- I can see their pain and feel it if I so choose to. Karmically speaking I need to learn how to fit in and make deep lasting connections with people. This is why I like getting to know people behind their mask. I put myself out there, for good or bad, to understand myself so that I can understand others to better understand myself. If you ask me for help I will help you - but do not get upset for me telling you things that you did not want to hear. Clockwork Illumination is my brainchild to help people see what they really are. Yes, I am extremely sensitive individual on many different levels; get highly offended on multiple levels but I face my fears and let the courage take over which is why my persona screams Amazon Warrior Goddess and my inner self as a pure and innocent child full of wonder.

Ashlee Big 3 Aspected

Ashlee's Big 3 Aspected

Yesterday we learned that I possess more traits that are likened to that of a male than that of a female. That my childhood was mainly focused on education, stimulating the mind and living in the world of books. We came to understand that my father and I had a love/ hate relationship and that I am very sensitive to feelings; myself and others. There are 3 distinct sides within me- Happy, sad/lonely and anger. The anger manifests itself as a hated towards men or a dislike of anything in an authoritative role. I do not like being told what to do or how to do it. Which is a mixture of my sun and moon placements. The ascendant makes me a quite positive and optimistic person who is enthusiastic about everything. Only when I am alone or left to my own devices will you see glints of the loneliness that I feel due to the way I was treated.

If you would like to continue reading more about me let us continue down the path that is me:

The Ascendant and its Aspects

Ascendant conjunct Mercury

If the Ascendant represents how we begin things and Mercury indicates how we communicate, these two energies may represent itself differently than the conversation indicates it should. The ascendant represents how we present ourselves, the kind of energy we put out when we attempt something new; mercury can be used to understand how we communicate, we talk, how we think. We may say one thing and do another. The dichotomy can be understood when we consider mercury in a relationships.

Because the Sun is in such close proximity to Mercury, the Mercury placement may be outweighed by the suns energy. People born with this conjunction are able to put their thoughts into action for Mercury rules the mind, the ability to communicate.

Ascendant sextile Venus

If the ascendant represents the masquerade, the persona, how we start something new, and Venus symbolizes what we want from life, what we desire, how we appreciate love, this combination will indicate how we manifest our desire nature in our personal life. In romantic situations these aspects shape the life for they indicate the degree of comfort or discomfort that will be experienced as we accomplish our goals, or cope with our frustrated romantic aspirations.

People with the Ascendant sextile Venus  easily attain their affectional needs, for their persona manifests traits similar to that which they appreciate in general.

Ascendant sesquisquare Jupiter

The ascendant is the masquerade, the indicator of how we project our persona; it reflects how we handle our new beginnings. Jupiter indicates how we relate ourselves to others, and how we relate to our personal needs.  WE either relate (or understand) what we start or we don't. If we relate easily, we tend to do well professionally; if not then we have to be really brilliant in order to get ahead.  When Jupiter squares the Ascendant the relationship needs argue with the persona. A battle for freedom within the relationship ensues.

Ascendant trine Saturn

If Saturn indicates what we raged with caution and the ascendant represents the persona, or how we begin something new, the aspects between Saturn and the Ascendant will indicate caution or circumspection. The trine indicates people who were raised in an atmosphere of careful decision making. Work done and values considered are those that cooperate with authority and tradition. Action taken will probably be mature because the childhood environment encouraged it.

The Sun and Its Aspects

Sun Trine Mars'

The sun represents the spiritual self, the "I am" part of the self. The sun sign and its aspects to the sun indicate something about your behavior of the physical father when the child was 0-3 years of age. Mars represents action; its the "I act" principle and describes the kind of action a person will take. When the Sun and Mars are combined by aspect , it can be determined whether or not the self can be acted out in a constructive way. When we act against the sun, we place limitations on our potential. Mars also indicates our special kind of sexuality. Something of a person's sexual response to self and to other people can be determined by examining the aspects between Mars and the Sun.
These people have the ability to work well and are capable of accomplishment in the world; the choice that they will make has to do with what they consider accomplishment to be. The decision will be formed from the energy attached to the Sun sign regarding ethics, values and philosophical outlook. Mars represents the "I act " and the sun represents the "I am" When these two energies work together, these people have an opportunity to make a mark on the universe. Whether or not the energy is used this way is a personal decision.
The father brings a healthy image to the child when it is born; the family atmosphere shows the child how to accomplish what it sets out to do. Because family helps and encourages the child, and because the father is under a favorable influence when the child was born, the child may expect that all his endeavors will be encouraged and appreciated by those around them. They may find that Mom and Dad give more support than their peers. If this happens, the child may give up too easily when things do not go his way. His individual persistence level may be determined by considering the sun sign, what the fallibilities are and how Saturn is Aspected in the natal chart. All in all, people born with this aspect have ample opportunity to get "mission impossible" possible.
This makes you have quite a strong and resilient nature, or you feel fearful and feeble in the face of what seems to be  hostile world. So on the one hand, you are built for action, and as a rule you have no trouble getting on with the job at hand. You are decisive, forthright and competitive, and other people pick up on this and respond to it- although not necessarily that favorably.
On the other hand, you must realize that your timidity is being felt by the child in you, which poses the need to develop a tougher adult side of yourself. In either case, you need to know what you want, otherwise what could be a mixture of desire and aimlessness or sheer willfulness will create far more enemies than allies. Bear in mind that your undeniable drive and energy is initially discovered through encountering similar competiveness in others. Your primarily requirement is finding a worthwhile cause.

Sun quincunx Jupiter

These planets indicate an emphasis regarding how the individual is programmed to relate to the self(the inner values, the personal needs) Jupiter symbolizes how we relate to the concept of self, family and the universe around us. If Jupiter is hard Aspected the child saw the relating principle as difficult. This can indicate an adult problem with relating in general. The hard aspects often indicate an inability to diagnose the needs of the self. When talking about their childhood experience, these may be the people that swear that they had wonderful childhood environment, when the aspects in the chart say that they didn't.
Jupiter afflictions are hard for us to accept within ourselves. They create a subconscious aversion to looking within, but it's important to do so. We cannot receive what we need if we don't know who we are. To know that  "I am" and to know that "I exist" are important to share with someone. The relating ability includes friends, lovers, families, children as well as a feeling of being part of the universe and feeling excited about being alive in the world around us.
This aspect creates a strain. Jupiter indicates how we relate to the world, and the sun represents what we are. The train usually exist because out relationship abilities conflict in some way with our inner needs. Jupiter- Sun afflictions represent a certain barrier to personal growth. If we can't really relate to who we are, how can we really share ourselves in a relationship? In the spiritual sense, Jupiter and Saturn are the planets that get us from this plane to the others, for they are the qualities that permit consciousness to expand. Referring back to the ancient houses, Jupiter and Saturn rule the 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th houses. These are areas that represent conscious expansion. If Jupiter and Saturn afflictions exists within the chart they should be the first planets to be understood.

There are distinct times in your life when you tend to go overboard in certain areas of your life, such as with food or drink, jumping into new business or personal ventures without enough forethought, and so forth. When reality hits, you feel guilty for your excesses. You may frequently dream big dreams or devise big plans, only to leave them hanging when you realize they are not attainable, or that you don't have the energy or resources to work towards them. Recognizing these tendencies is the first step towards resolving them.

Before you know it, you can get in over your head. The influence of your Sun in quincunx aspect to Jupiter stimulates a powerful restlessness and desire to push beyond your limits. The problem is seeing the limits in the first place! For you, they need to be made out of rubber in order to stretch as frequently as you would like

Sun Semi square Saturn

When the Sun and Saturn are linked together the spiritual self is combined with a process of restriction. In order to grow with these aspects, we need to understand Father Nature, the masculine half of Mother Nature! Saturn represents how the father may psychologically influence or hamper the growth of his child. In a general sense, Saturn contacts involve the concept of restriction or a feeling of "lack" in the personality. However because we tend to give more attention to our lacks, they become our strong points.
the child was born into an atmosphere where the father does not like himself. The Sun represents the  "I am" it also indicates the type of physical father. Saturn indicates where repression comes from. It also indicates the psychological influence of the father on the child. It can also be used to indicate how the father's father was- for when Saturn semi squares the sun it indicates that the grandfather was influential in developing the behavior pattern of the father, who in turn influences the child. When this aspect occurs, it can mean that the father is feeling sorry for himself or resents his fatherhood, his career, his life style, his responsibilities, his neighborhood etc. The child born at this time will inherit or learn Daddy's behavior pattern. The learning process is an unconscious one; the parent may not even be aware that he can influence his child in this manner. The life pattern of that child develops will be described by the signs that the sun and Saturn are in. Again, the child born into a positive sign (1= Aries,3= Gemini,5= Leo,7= Libra,9= Saggitarius,11= Aquarius) may be antitradtion, antifather, anitmen, anti-organization. This energy can be used for accomplishing either good, bad, for world changers go against tradition but do so rabble-rousers. How one wishes to use this energy is a personal decision.
Often the Saturn semi square Sun children have a father who leaves them. This is particularly important to girls for some of them subconsciously expect any man that they love to leave them since daddy did. One never knows how the energy of the early environment affects the mind; but we can begin to understand when we listen to a client's problem and begin to tie it into the chart. Because we don't remember our early childhood impressions, sometimes the only way to unearth them is by trying to understand the language and symbolism continued in astrology.
These people carry with them an aura of resentment toward any authority figure, including the boss. People in management dislike personnel with this placement, for although the employee does his job, he often does it with an  'attitude'. These people are sometimes better off self-employed or working at the management level, for they don't work well with others. In order to get into management, however, one has to do some time on the obedience level. Once a jog is well learned, or if we have  talent to offer, we can advance our status. It's important that these people receive the training necessary to free them from subordinate positions.
On the self-awareness level, since father negatively influences these children on a psychological level, and this influence is rarely conscious, they need to develop feelings of self-worth. They have to convince themselves that they have a right to invest time in themselves, to build a sense of self. When one has no self worth , one even feels guilty about asking for help, si it's difficult to go into therapy.
The individuals may project all their problems onto others- its the worlds fault they aren't successful- and they may sound rather paranoid. A relationship that doesn't go well is their partners fault.; and all the ills in life happen because of other people. However, they aren't able to put much into a relationship until they like themselves, so healthy people may leave them. Understanding the attitude alleviates the problem. Learning that we all have a right to do something to help ourselves can lead these individuals into the right path. When we are on the right path for ourselves, we can feel it in our guts. We begin to feel good!
They either have an unshakable discipline about you, or an impenatratable wall around you - or both. Yours is a life where your will is having to be built and tested, tested and built some more, in order to achieve the goals described by your sun profile. You therefore have or need to construct, a highly objective attitude to life situations, and adopt conventionally laid down, tried and true, methods in order to achieve those ends. In the process though, take yourself less seriously, or else your innate sense of duty can amount to nothing more than a lonely 24 hour a day guard around your fragile ego.

Sun Opposing Uranus

Any contact between the Sun and Uranus tends to influence the person to be more unconventional rather than "normal" sign type. It signifies unusual parents and an unusual childhood environment, but how these things are "different" is an unknown. Unusual behavior can range anywhere from unorthodox on a healthy level, to all kinds of perversity. The childhood environment can be determined by looking at the rest  of the aspects in the chart. Uranus is a generational planet that affects thousands of people in one sign.
The behavior patterns of the father are not productive at the time the child was born, and the child is caught in the unproductive pattern. The father presents himself in such an unorthodox way that the subconscious mind of the child develops  a pattern that includes "unsureidness" of self. The father causes the child to undergo some kind of hardship; perhaps life situation or hardships that confront the father are taken out on the child when dad comes home. Whatever the case, the child assumes that life should not be easy! When one believes this one usually draws the life experience one expects.
Relationships are often difficult for those with this aspect, for they present themselves to others in a manner that is difficult for to her to understand. The generation that they are born into may have adverse effects on them. They may also become involved in the exclusive idea of being "different" Unconventional or eccentric people can be either interesting or self destructive. When we pursue the unusual merely for the sake of being unusual, either to get attention or to bother someone else, we seldom stop to see if our eccentricity is productive. Because each individual is free to choose how he will live his life as an adult, its impossible to predict the behavior patterns of people born with this aspect. The Uranian is usually ahead of the times or behind them.
It seems as if the father does not provide a dependable image for this child. If the child is born into a positive sign, he may suffer through his experience with dad, dealing with some form of physical violence, or perhaps some kind of emotional violence that serves to develop a quality of insecurity.
This aspect bring with it a transformational quality, and because the child is exposed to unusual behavior patterns, it is capable of developing new avenues of thought as an adult. These can be the individuals who evolve consciously, who become the contemporary philosophers of their generation, for Uranus lifts up the sign type. The uplifting experience seldom takes place until they get over hating daddy or feeling self-pity because of their childhood circumstance.

Sun Semi square The North Node, Sun Sesquisquare the South Node

You Are Challenged by Your Destiny. Commonly, given this configuration, you are reluctant to face either your life’s destiny or your karmic past.  You have a tendency to escape into yourself and become absorbed in your own sense of being or your own personality.  You may exhibit a strong persona, thereby, but you will be distracted from the pursuit of your destiny and from clearing up any loose ends associated with your karmic past.  It is also likely that it will be difficult for you to develop your innate talents and resources, as they are psychologically connected to the unresolved issued symbolized by the South Node.
The tendencies described above may be lessened is either the North or the South Node is conjunct any other planet (which draws your attention to that pole).  However, because of this focus, it is also possible that the difficulties symbolized by the square to the Nodes become more problematical.  If a planet conjuncts the South Node, you may be unmindful of your destiny and if a planet conjuncts the North Node, you may fail to realize or utilize various talents or resources that are your karmic heritage.
If you decide to meet the challenge symbolized by the Sun square Nodes, rather than escape from it, you will feel driven toward a destiny that is likely to be difficult.  You may have to overcome various challenges and obstacles to achieve your life’s goals.  At the same time, you may find that your natural talents and resources carry mixed blessings, or that there may be obstacles in the way of your accessing them.  You may have to give up something of your self in order to fulfill your destiny/talents, but you will find that what has been given up is only a lower, less complete self.  The result of meeting the challenges symbolized by this configuration will be a stronger and more fully realized individuality.

Transcendent Potential
The transcendent potential of the Sun square the Moon’s Nodes is realized when your concept of self is transformed so that you see that you are not the ego-self, but something higher.  It may be the pull of destiny that causes this realization or you may discover an innate spirituality within yourself.  Your self-realization, n turn, enhances your ability to pursue a higher destiny and to tap deep within yourself for your spiritual treasure.  In fact, it is only be rising above your ego self that you can reconcile your identity, your destiny and your innateness.
Insecurity
Because you will not risk losing your ego, you are blind to both your destiny and your innate resources.  You are sunk into your own ego-identity.  Yet, consciously or subconsciously, you are pulled both toward your destiny and toward the realization of your talents, resources and innate nature.  You resist this pull, however, so that you are either consciously conflicted and in inner turmoil or you are subject to the blows of both destiny and habit that your subconscious employs to try to shake you out of your ego-complacency.

Sun Square Midhaven

Something gets in the way of your amounting to something in life, or you have an ambition that brooks no resistance. In either case that something is your ego, and as such it is afraid of failing- which could be regarded as a failing in itself. You'll need to be clearer about what you are really trying to prove to prevent you, and those you work with or live with, feeling too pressured.

The Moon Aspects

Moon opposing Jupiter

The moon represent our physical body, how we respond to life around us, our need for affection, the mother as she responded in the early childhood relationship with us. Jupiter indicates how we open up, how we expand our consciousness. When Jupiter ties into the moon, it indicates that a gut-level awareness will take place when something new is envisioned or learned, for the opening up will be received in the physical sense as well as in other ways. If Jupiter represents how we relate, its tie to the Moon will indicate how we rete to our emotional needs and reactions, how we relate to our physical body and its needs.
During the early childhood experience of this person, the mother withdrawals from them. She may not be relating her needs as a women; she may feel that women's emotional needs are not considered by others. This child will pick up her attitude, and, he will be too involved with the mother for one reason or another. As an adult, he will have to learn how to relate to his personal emotional needs as well as the needs of the his body. There may be too little emphasis placed on personal needs and too much placed on those of other. Emotional responses are not easily shared, relationships may be considered from a point of compromise and tension's in these areas my be assuaged by an overindulgence in food or alcohol.
Relationships may be started with little consideration for the future; the career, friendships formed, or even love relationships may not be developed easily for their is a tendency to play a role. This can be the person who works really hard at the wrong job, the person who has friends who don't really know him, the person who marries and has children with someone who never knows how he or she really feels.

Moon trine South node

Your Emotional/Subconscious Function is in Harmony Predispositions and Innate Qualities
The trine between the Moon and the South Node tends to be a particularly conducive aspect due to basic compatibility of the functions symbolized by the Moon and South Node. Both are patterns of behavior that are ingrained and that have their roots in past experiences.  The harmony between your basic emotional and behavioral nature and subconscious conditioning, on the one hand, and your innate qualities and talents that derived from past (life)experience suggests that there is a strong tendency for you to exploit those talents and resources that are symbolized by the South Node’s placement. You are apt to be emotionally well suited to develop your natural talents. Your family and/or cultural background and heritage are also likely to be amenable to your making the best use of your gifts and resources.  You are also likely to be predisposed to follow a road in life that is in harmony with your domestic and family life, your emotional nature and your basic behavioral patterns.  All this makes for not only feeling comfortable about the area of life symbolized by the South Node’s house placement, but also for your natural aptitudes seeming to come even more naturally. If either the Moon or the South Node has a difficult aspect from another planet, the trine suggest a way for you to relieve the stress that is associated with the difficult aspect.  Your innate talents, resources and qualities may help you deal with the stress associated with a difficult aspect is to the Moon.  Emotional or family support or your intuition can usually help you deal with any stress associated with a difficult aspect to the South Node

Transcendent Potential

The transcendent potential of the Moon trine the South Node is realized when you follow those predispositions that are symbolized by the South Node in harmony with a wholeness of being and emotional health that you have experienced through actualizing the potential of your subconscious.  You have sought your cosmic roots both by developing your innate spiritual qualities and by exploring your subconscious and seeking to merge into the Oneness of Being, the Eternal Mother.  These growth processes support each other and have allowed you to grow in your capacity for compassion and caring, as well as in developing your inner and outer resources to their highest potential. Being insecure in your selfhood, you have not demanded much from yourself in life.  Consequently, you have failed to discover the treasure lying within you, but have remained content with a banal routine existence.  Family, domestic concerns, emotions that never transcend the personal and a subconsciously conditioned life are perfectly in harmony with your lack of ambition to take those innate talents and resources that you possess any farther than their ordinary application to everyday life.

Putting it all Together:

As we look at the aspects of the big 3 it is clear to see where I get my "Daddy issues" from and why I have them. My father did a huge psychological number on me as a child. It was his dominating influence that developed my self- esteem issues and feelings of not having any self worth. I wasn't allowed to make decisions for myself; they were made by my father. Even when I open my mouth- it all had to be approved by him first. My father never told me that he loved me; he only dangled the illusion that he loved me over my head so that I would strive to be more like a man- which is why he raised me by the works of Machiavelli's the Prince. All of his actions towards me taught me that I was a waste of space and that I was unlovable. This grew within me a fragile ego and a huge hole of "nothing that I do matters"
Instead of looking to him as my role model I looked to the Heavenly father as my father. At least he wouldn't let me down and would take the time to give me the things that my own father couldn't. As I got older I realized that my will was being tested over and over again. Our arguments taught me that I was a lot stronger than he made me out to be. That I had a large amount of will power and that I did nothing for his pleasure. I worked out most of these things within me MYSELF. I didn't have any help except my higher self and back then I didn't want to listen to what they were saying. I had to become strong in my sense of self; what I held as right and wrong and ease up on being so angry with people in powerful positions over me. With the help of Saturn, Jupiter and Uranus I was able to find a higher calling- I taught myself astrology. First as a parlor trick then as a way to help guide me in my life since I had no guidance.
Due to these big 3 aspects I had to "remake myself in the image that I saw fit"- not how others choose to see me. I hade to work through all of my darkness; understand where it came from (my father) and how to make it positively constructive in my life. If you were wondering where my ideals and high expectations of myself, and conversely, expectations of others come from its all found right here in the above information. 12th house Geminis live in the shadows of life; growing from darkness into beautiful creatures BECAUSE there was no other choice. They had to have a cruel and harsh upbringing in order to find their value and self worth on their own, without any help from others or they do not appreciate how far they have come in their life. This is why when people tell me that they can't or give a crappy excuse I internally know better.
Thanks to astrology I was able to free myself from the shackles that my Father imposed on me. Freed myself from the negative thought patterns that he was feeding me. I was able to become strong for myself; to become the whipping girl and I did it with a smile on my face because I wouldn't give my father the satisfaction of making me/seeing me cry to his face. This is where I can become fiercely protective of the people that I care about. I will take their punishment if need be because I knew I was strong enough to handle it. This is why I take the time to point out to others that they are causing unnecessary harm to others because I lived through it and recognize it within others.
My mother on the other hand, didn't teach me how to be a woman; I had to learn that from the Divine Mother. So I looked to nature to make me feel better; trees can't say mean things to you and neither could the animals. I developed a strong caring, compassionate nature that I reserved only for Nature. understanding the 3 phases of the moon I was able to make inferences about the mystery that is the feminine mystique and my role within it. I was taught that being a woman meant that you were the lowest of low; that you weren't taken seriously even if your have powerful life-altering ideas due to others preconceived notions of how a woman should act. It wasn't till I took a good long look at my parents behaviors and recognized them within me that I realized that I was being their copy and not "Ashlee" So I began to figure out my value system, things that were important to me and became the person that you see now.

Ashlee's Profile of the Big 3 + Air Signs: Gemini

Ashlee Lindsay's Natal Chart
The Big 3 + Air Signs + Gemini

I do not normally show people my chart since the consultation is about you and not me but since you asked nicely here it is. I'm trying my best to not put the letter I in my assessment of myself since I'm being objective about this.

Gemini Ascendant + Sagittarius Descendant, Sun in Gemini, Moon in Taurus

The Ascendant indicates the things that we are trying to be; not the things that we are. This is where the individual creates her persona; a survival mechanism that allows us to put our best foot forward and be seen for what we want to be seen as. Depending on the environment the ascendant qualities and traits might have been more accepted than the person's sun and moon aspects were. When this happens the person learns to hide their "true self" and only bring out their "representative" i.e. the ascendant sign. What is challenging is that when we are young we are at odds with our selves- the person that we are trying to be (the Ascendant), the person that we are (the Sun) and how that person responds to life. (the Moon)

Gemini Ascendant

You approach life in the spirit of inquiry, like the eternal student. You love making connections between one thing or another, without necessarily having to feel any sense of where it is all heading or what it all means. You are also a keen maker of contacts, priding yourself on being acquainted with all types of individual and scene. Not surprisingly, you are equipped with quick wits and word power. Quite what this all amounts to, that is, who it is that is doing all this talking, thinking, enquiring, can be elusive. And so you attract an Other intent on teaching you to become some kind of comprehensive whole. Because of this, Other can organize you into and entity of more meaning and emotional integrity- if you let them. However, this can make you feel preached at, and you mat wiggle even more in order to remain the free agent you identify with being, even chopping and changing identities to facilitate this.
Your friendliness and conversational ease give lie to the fact that behind such affability there languishes a quite aloof and even supercilious being. It is as if there is a dimension to your personality that you feel is apart from the world, that no one can ever reach or understand. But because this is your Shadow and as such is denied, you wind up feeling there is a part of you that you must keep out of sight, and so you use your agile tongue and wits to throw Other off the scent. If you accepted your Shadow, you would find that is not so much superiority but more a sense of your higher self- looking out for you in spite of yourself.
You love a relationship that feels as if it is going somewhere. The trouble is, with your dilettante-like nature, you will interpret this quite literally as going on a trip or traveling abroad with someone. Really, this means that your relationship has to amount to something in a philosophical or even a religious sense, like a moral statement. It is as if the relationships a hair-clasp that holds together all the disparate strands of your Mercurial temperament. Without understanding or accepting this style, you had better resign yourself to a series of inconsequential affairs posing as a love life- the sum being less than the total of the parts.
When or if alone, you will, apart from anything else, have your alter ego for company. And this is the clue as to why you are alone: you are disinclined to allow an Other to see the side to your nature which is the 'dark twin', that is, the one you who you assume would not be accepted by Other. What characterizes this dark twin you may know in your heart, and it could be described somewhere in these pages under the influence of some planet. But whatever it is like. let it out so it might grow to be seen, known, loved, and transformed.
Mercury is the ruling planet which governs the link between your exterior being and your internal being. Your Other is Sagittarius and therefore the planet Jupiter governs your relationships.

The Sun

If the Ascendant tells us who we are trying to be then the Sun placement shows us what we are or who we are. This is our true self; we just hide it underneath the persona of the Ascendant. When we chase and pursue our persona we neglect the person that were are suppose to be.

Sun in Gemini

Your essential life purpose is to make contact with, and connections between, whatever or whoever you regard as important- which is more or less everything! This you do because at heart you find everything interesting in some way or another. You are very alive to the variety of animate and inanimate objects on this planet, and you want to get to know as many of them as possible. As a rule though, 'get to know' is all you want to do
As long as you have a 'taste' you are satisfied; getting deeply involved in not really to your taste, and you will flip like a coin from one interest or person to another as it suits you. There may be other parts of your personality/Birth chart that need or are attracted to more intimate situations, in which case a more profound sense of human interaction will be asked of you.
Like the many facets of life that you are acquainted with, you are able to turn your hand to many tasks and skills; indeed it is your hands, as well as your quick mind and wits, that are your most excellent tools. You are, or should be, the communicator. There is nothing like a Gemini for keeping itself, the world and society in touch with each other and with what is happening.

Sun in the 12th House

All of this is likely to center upon and be caused by experiences of the dim and distant past- of this life, womb-life, or even before that. Whether these experiences are felt like heavy shadows or like paradise lost, your will must bend itself to clearing out that closet of repressed longings, regrets and vague reservations. You are open to unseen forces- for good and ill- and this could also incline towards addictions or strange phobias and notions, but at the positive end you can be inspired artistically or as a channel for spiritual messages. The twelfth house can be the 'hell of the horoscope' or the 'heaven of the horoscope' - everything depends upon your essential integrity of being
Depending on your sun profile as a whole, managing all of this can be quite some task, and may restrict your life to a degree that is proportionate to how much that closet has not been cleared. In the process, or eventually, you can become a light in the darkness to others who are similarly confined by their fears and weaknesses. Inner peace for one and all is the only ultimate goal for you, so meditation, selfless service and psychological awareness (or sometimes practice) are your essential ways of living. Because of your basically reclusive nature, you prefer to work behind the scenes, go into retreat occasionally, and not be too much in the public eye (unless there are indicators in your chart that contradict this like strong Leo placements) Looked at it another way, your public persona may be very different to the real you.

The Moon

The Moon reflects the light the sun is giving off. it shows us how we respond to the others, the world and to ourselves when we are emotionally hurt. It indicates our security needs, the mother, and fear of the unknown.

Moon in Taurus

Your reigning need is to feel emotionally stable and mentally secure. The former is taken care of by the fact that you are reluctant to pursue any idea or activity that is going to rock the boat, coupled with the fact that you do have a fairly unflappable nature. Ironically, however, when a change is required you could be slow to act, or become bored, to the point of destabilizing your position.
Where material stability is concerned, you have a natural sense of the importance of property and income. From the word go, you used your developed market instincts and sense of value to satisfy this need. The danger here is that you can let material considerations blind you to your emotional and psychological requirements. In any event, though, you are unlikely to get caught without the material wherewithal and, providing there isn't a mean streak in your personality, you can be of great material support and assistance to others who are less financially together.

Moon in the 11th House

All the needs and feelings are most likely to be met through friends, clubs, social movements, or the nurturing of some ideal. All these matters will go through phases, causing your goals and allegiances to fluctuate. Overall, you manage to keep your emotional life very light and breezy.
You prefer not to get morbid and heavy in one-to-one relationships, and if things get that way, you will go out with friends, or to somewhere impersonal. This can be a good safety valve, but a bad habit if you make your friends or associations into an emotional crutch. It is wise to take a break from them every so often in order to re-establish your own identity, not to mention facing anymore intimate emotional commitments.
All the same, you are capable of appealing to the crowd on an emotional level, which means that you have a finger on the pulse of the public's attitude to political, sociological or cultural issues.

Polarities

Since Gemini is considered to be a male sign and Taurus is characterized by being feminine she has a trinity with two masculine planets and one feminine one. What does this mean? That when she was born she was born going out of balance She can be animus controlled more easily; she can manifest her personality  in such a masculine way that she is not well received. She can seem too aggressive. She may not value her feminine self, and she may not truly value her biological role in which she was cast. She may be overly aggressive with men; she may value an intellectual companion more than an emotional one; she may value professional standing more than a personal relationship. This type of woman should not avoid developing her masculine traits (the intellect), but the feminine side of her personality should also be acknowledged and respected. As the masculine traits are developed and used in perspective, she can use the healthy energies and discard the less useful ones. However feelings are felt; not thought.

Air signs and Gemini

People born with the sun in one of the air signs is a born communicator. The air signs symbolize the various kinds of communication that exist in our universe. These are the people interested in exploring the world of the mind. they live in their heads or minds, they are mental people, they react to life from a mental point. They enjoy exploring the world or words, education, the various levels of philosophy and spirituality or a combination of the above. These children usually wind up in families where no one communicates in a way that a child can understand; such circumstances can send the Air signs on a search for the meaning of words, the meaning of the mind and all the related fields of communication.
Gemini people are born into the most personal of the Air signs. They wonder where they fit in the scheme of things. They have lots of  'me' 'i' and 'my' in their consciousness, and their life experience requires the incorporation of self into a larger universe. Geminis are raised in a father-dominated atmosphere. Communication between the parents is difficult for these children to understand, because disagreements between the parents are solved with words and not deeds. Since young children do not understand what words mean, they are uncertain as to what all of the fuss is about. But, they do know something important is going on because the parents are upset by the strange words. Gemini children learn to use words well, for they are good imitators; but often they don't know what the words mean. Because Geminis find communication intriguing, they pursue either the world of conversation or the world of books. The media becomes important to them, and therefore they make great contributions in that area.
Geminis are explorers of the intellect and are naturally very curious people. Their curiosity is manifested in several ways, depending on the childhood environment. If little to no education is available, or if there are too many air signs in the chart, they want to talk; they learn by talking, they entertain by talking, and they live a lively and entertaining social life. Each person that they meet is a new source of information or entertainment. As they seek each new experience they forget the old sources. This can cause conflict in their love relationships because their partner will resent all the new people. if the background was more intellectual, or placed more stress on education, Geminis will explore the world of the intellect and pursue the study of language and/or education. In addition, they are enthusiastic about sharing information and social activities with all kinds of new and interesting people. However, the more educated Geminis have the same problem as those who aren't; they have trouble maintaining interest in an ongoing relationship.
The parents of Gemini children have some interesting reactions to each other in terms of body language. The impact of the words they react to fascinate Geminis, who feel left out. Geminis often try to recreate these situations in adult life and in their relationships. They need verbal interchanges with their mates. This interchange can start with harmless banter and works its way into bickering. If the mate of a Gemini doesn't understand the Geminis need to see a reaction (body language) to words, and if the mate doesn't respond appropriately to the situation, terrible verbal fights can ensue, leaving lots of hurt feelings and misunderstandings. After the fight, Gemini feels wonderful but the mate is ready to pack; and after a long series of these interchanges, the Gemini may find they've lost a partner
One of the relationship difficulties for Geminis stems from a fear or a disinterest in working through problems to some compatible compromise or solution. Since they are social at heart, it's easier for them to run off and explore the new and different rather than to work through a serious situation with an  'old' partner. This type of Gemini needs to learn to work through disagreements, without becoming resentful.
The Gemini female child admires her father, who is often a respectable professional. Or, if daddy is not a professional of some sort he usually is known for something that he accomplished that was special. She wants to be special like he is, but there is resentment directed toward him along with the admiration. At some time in her childhood when it was important that she have his attention, he ignored her. And so, she brings her resentment for her father into her adult life.
Because Gemini is a mental sign, it isn't always easy for the female to incorporate her emotional needs into her professional life. She sometimes looks at her body and physical needs as alien to her. She tends to select a mate based on his ability to mentally stimulate her, and she wants companionship with a partner almost as much as a Sagittarius female does. She loves the company of men because she feels she can share her ideas with them; being born in a masculinity polarity, she wants to feed her intellect. Because of this polarity, she may reject the feminine self. The less evolved Gemini type avoids the company of women because she basically doesn't respect the position of woman. As she becomes more conscious, she begins to cherish her relationships with women who are interested in mental development like she is. She may even find conversations with women more stimulating than the ones she has with men for there are no sexual overtones.

Putting it all Together:

Normally I would synthesize what I have just given you information-wise but I think the above sums it up pretty nicely. But in the spirit of things I will go into my past:

Looking back I was rather a very shy child inside of the house but outside amongst friends I became alive. This is where I began to have the 'of two minds' mentality that a Gemini would be so famous for. This was a battle between the Ascendant and the Sun being in the 12th house; and each side fit a specific role within my life. At this point I hadn't developed emotions; I was all about the intellect- education was stressed at home and in school. I read a lot. School became my escape which is why attending classes is so natural to me. I like to learn. It was a safe place. I was allowed to grow and be creative and got recognized for my efforts and achievements; not criticized because I wasn't good enough. I came to understand this concept on a mental plane that I wasn't good enough but I was incapable of feeling those emotions. As a result,  I nurtured and developed my brain and not my heart and rejected any feminine qualities that I possessed convinced by my father that they were a 'weakness' on my part and needed to be eradicated.

You can see that I have come a long way in the progression that is myself just based off of the Big 3 placements.

Paris' Venus Profile...

Paris' Venus Profile

The planetary influence of Venus shows us our attractions and our harmony. It can show you what you need and can give by way of love and affection, beauty and happiness. Positively it shows as social graces and charm. negatively represents indulgence, superficiality and wanton pleasure seeking which can be interpreted as anti-social. It also represent the ability to relate, harmonize, and to express ones self through art and a sense of aesthetics. it has a great deal to do with female sexuality and sensuality and symbolizes what you like.

Venus is never far from the Sun but here it is. Venus is usually one sign ahead or behind the sun just as Mercury is. Here Venus is 2 signs behind the sun which is very unique. It represents the impact of the mother has on the child's psyche on a subconscious level. Every mother has her own attitudes regarding the concept of motherhood, the responsibilities of rearing children and viewpoints regarding self- value. If her mother had poorly developed concepts of regarding the feminine principle, if her self-esteem is low if she thinks that woman (or the feminine) have little value, these concepts will be passed into the child. Hard aspects indicate that Paris' mother affected her child adversely because of her state of mind at the time. Because this influence happens within the first 3 years of Paris' life the effect on the subconscious is hard to diagnose. The mother may change, mature, become self aware, develop self esteem later, and Paris won't remember the early pattern. Shaina is receptive in the formative years to the attitudes projected by her mother; but her response to the mother's influence is directed at herself. Paris may feel like she is a second class citizen, she may feel that women have no rights, and she may have little sense of self-esteem. She may be apprehensive regarding the role of the biological female; all phrases of the reproductive and mothering process may be affected in some adverse way, ranging from avoiding motherhood to overcompensating for her dislike or apprehension regarding the child rearing process. Paris may be defensive of herself and her rights not seeing clearly that those ideas could be better established within. If Paris has no need of her femininity, she may respond to love and affection with difficulty- it not seem natural to her. She may reject men who are nice to her, for when a woman regards herself as second rate she will be suspicious of anyone who likes her. As Paris becomes conscious of the limitations of her hard aspects she can cure them and thereby enter into more satisfying relationships.

Venus in Gemini
Paris likes to keep love at an adolescent level of expression. She likes the flirting, chasing and the love games, and do not like it when things get too heavy or committed. For her, love is in bud rather than in full bloom, so if you want something to last, you have to give it a chance to develop, be more steadfast, and not abandon it to the winds of fate. For her love and beauty are things of the mind, and so you may well have some literary ability. In real life, though, your predilection for keeping things light and airy can be a serious hazard to maintaining a mature relationship. And her natural flightiness would be better or well employed in some art form like dance or song. In essence, you are having a relationship with yourself. As long as this does not become too materialistic or narcissistic and wrap you up in yourself, you do keep the love stacks fresh and interesting.

Venus in the 11th house
Paris wants to experience these senses and bring this style of loving into an open friendly possibly somewhat detached and idealistic sphere of social activity. Her Venus sign qualities may not lend themselves well to this. She very much wants a partner to be on good terms with her friends and associates and to share her social aspirations. Conflicting aims or social values can spell disruption or death to a relationship. Knowing her lover initially as a friend is a strong prerequisite to having a harmonious relationship. And the actual meeting  of your mate is more likely to occur at a club or some group gathering. Her social sense is quite evolved or future-oriented, but in this respect she is inclined to forget that one person's meat is another one's poison.

Aspects to Venus

Venus sextile Jupiter
The sextile indicates a person whose psyche is constructively affect by her mother for she shows her that relationships can take place, that one can reach out and be favorably received. Metaphysically speaking, we all get what we expect. Some people are able to reach out naturally- to respond to others to ask for what is needed because the early childhood environment was encouraging. This individual will have an inner sense of security that will enable her to have the confidence she needs to pursue her goals. This aspect indicates a predilection for comfortable emotional relationships, and she will pass her responsiveness on to her children.

Venus opposing Uranus
Venus symbolizes our intellectual concept of love how we appreciate beauty, how we receive love how we approach our wants in life. it tells us something about the concept of femininity that we absorb from our mother during our formative years. Uranus is more of a generational symbol that has to do with our behavioral urges our eccentricities our more willful behavior as well as an attitude toward consciousness. When these two facets of personality combine the concept of love becomes more farsighted, perhaps more unusual or unorthodox. Here the talent in the aspect has to be worked for because the individual arrives in a difficult family atmosphere and absorbs some unproductive behavior patterns from the mother. Venus indicates that the affect of the mother on the child's psyche. Her influence will affect the formation of Paris' concept of what a woman is as well as the concept of affection, love and the ability to receive it. Uranus indicates the behavior pattern of the generation the individual is born into and the sign and house placement will show areas of willfulness and erratic or eccentric behavior. When the opposition takes place it indicates that the person is subject to some kind of loos in childhood; the aspect may or may not be as severe as Saturn afflictions to Venus. The rest of the chart will tell whether or not the mother was cruel- looking at the aspects of the moon, sun, ascendant, and determine the effects of the fourth house in order to further understand the affect of the mother. She may or may not have been cruel to the person she may have just not been involved or not cared. The aspect shapes an adult who jumps in and out of love affairs and doesn't know what she wants, for Venus represents the "I want" nature and Uranus makes that erratic. Paris' may jump from one relationship to the next, or one job to the next, or even jump in and out of career training programs for she changes her mind a lot. She doesn't know what to expect from her own emotional nature or how to receive the love given to her. She may be warm and affectionate one minute and gone the next. The fear of relationships may have something to do with the fact that her mother had an erratic personality; she may have been unpredictable when she was a child. No matter how stable she is later in life, Paris still fears a trusting relationship. The female has more difficulty with this aspect for it alters the concept of the biological female role and she may not feel comfortable coping with children (When childhood is extremely unpleasant the adult may subconsciously avoid creating and similar circumstance. This can put a damper on a relationships.) If I had to guess I would say that Paris may have been physically or mentally abused in some way when she was a child. In order to break the power of this aspect, unhealthy or erratic behavior patterns must become conscious. The abrupt handling of emotional relationships can be altered by analyzing past relationships especially in a therapeutic setting.

Venus semisquare Pluto
Venus symbolizes the intellectual concept of love; the regard for the feminine or the feminine principle. the attitude affecting a women's self worth and her response to her biological role comes from this placement for it indicates the attitudes of the mother in regard to her own nature when the individuals' psyche is able to absorb those feelings. Pluto can be identified as the unconscious motivation of a generation as well as symbolizing the portion of the collective unconscious that holds the mythic archetypal images of humanity. When this symbol is not understood consciously, it can reflect as aspect of personality that is less spectacular but more commonly recognized as forms of personal control and obsession. The hard aspects to Pluto will require that the individual move from obsessive responses to transformation and regeneration. The hard aspects may in fact cause more growth potential than the easy ones.  When Venus and Pluto come together it is obvious that the effort of the combined energies will influence the personal capacity for love. The range of feeling experience is a phenomenal for one can easily cooperate with the mood of the generation changing the patterns of social custom in a manner complementary to previous traditions , or one can function in a highly controlled manner. In the personal sense the combination reflects the possibility of including manipulation in the life experience. Because Venus is involved, the manipulation or obsession or control/power game comes from the mother influence. A person who is exposed to power games in childhood will develop into an adult who thinks she must control everyone as well- because a child can only imitate what she sees her parents doing. The facet of life that has to do with love and affection  will be the area of heaviest manipulation. In order to use the tie to the collective unconscious (symbolized by Pluto) the more obvious misuses of the energy will have to be rechanneled. When an individual takes responsibility for her actions, when she can recognize the control games that she plays, she can let them go.  When this occurs, the energy becomes creative and exciting. The ideas are new, the fountain from the collective unconscious never runs dry. The struggle is worth it. Here the mother provided an unhealthy atmosphere for the native when she was forming her reactions to the  "female" part of the world., when her psyche was developing an ability to love and to appreciate being loved, the mother was responding to her life in a plutonic manner. For some reason the mother of this individual felt that it was important to control all of the people she loved and she may have drained her family. This created a feeling in the individual that all women drain one, that all females are out to manipulate. If the Pluto influence was a physical one it will be more comprehensible in later years; but if the mother used the manipulative power of "smother love" this person may be forced to confront her at some point and this guilt over having to do so may inhibit her capacity for solving the aspect. This aspect tends to unconsciously attempt to control others. One way for the individual to become aware of how he does this is by observing others' reactions to her manipulative games. Strongly self contained people will avoid her for she tries to manipulate them, and manipulation is usually an indirect action. Some people resent controls being placed on them by the person with the Venus-Pluto semisquare, for her energy makes her feel cornered unfree unable to breathe around the Plutonic personality. The person with the aspect is often totally unaware of what she is doing, for her know no other to be. The female with this aspect feels she must hold on to her position for all it's worth or she wont have one. When Pluto aspects are strong in the natal chart it indicates a powerful personality with lots of potential for growth, but the energy must be used consciously or the individual tends to be used by it; the individual may be a victim of her own energy. When the individual can trust the natural power within, the inner self can guide her and she begins to allow things to happen. We cannot make anyone love us; we can "make" them act politely towards us, love is always a voluntary experience. When giving up controls we have to confront the fact the love cannot be forced, not made to happen. We can control with power, prestige, money or our manipulative abilities but we can never have inner feelings of security if we are living that way. When the inner confidence comes, so does the creativity.

Paris' Big 3 Aspected...

Yesterday we learned that Paris is a highly emotional person due to her experiences of her past. That she is reactionary; which means that she reacts to the vibration that others are giving off. When her feelings get hurt she has a two-fold process: Paris will yell and scream and then retreat into her shell till it is safe.

Today we will discuss the planets and the energies that also play a role in Paris' life.

The Ascendant and its aspects:

Ascendant conjunct Mars
This combination is important for the Ascendant is the house symbol of the action taken, how one starts things; and Mars is the planetary indicator of the action taken. Mars generally indicates how the sun sign qualities are put into action. This is a very powerful aspect for it indicates a high energy potential. These individuals will make quick, sometimes rash, decisions. The early childhood environment will be very active and it may even be somewhat violent. These individuals will be very familiar with anger, and the kind of anger that she was exposed to as a child will be indicated by the sign in which the conjunction occurred. In this case the conjunction is in Pisces which means the type of anger displayed was one of projected with guilt attached to it, perhaps anger that is caused by overly sensitive reactions to life. The emotional reaction to life will have to be handled constructively or Paris might spend too much time overreacting to ordinary life situations. Career decisions need to be thought out carefully to overcome the natural inclination to jump into new situations thoughtlessly.

Ascendant square Jupiter
The Ascendant is the Masquerade, the indicator of how we project our persona; it reflects how we handle new beginnings. Jupiter indicates how we relate ourselves to others, and how we relate to our personal needs. We either relate (or understand) what we start, or we don't. If we relate easily we tend to do well professionally.; if not, we really have to be brilliant in order to get ahead. When Jupiter squares the Ascendant the relationship needs argue with the persona. in Paris' case there is an argument about whether or not to put herself out there or in situations that could hurt her without overreacting.

Ascendant semisquare Saturn
Saturn indicates what we regard with caution and the Ascendant represents the persona, or how we begin something new, the aspects between Saturn and the Ascendant will indicate caution or circumspection. When Saturn squares or in this case semisquares the Ascendant the approach to any new beginning is clouded with conflict, for early in the life the Father was not encouraging. Paris will commence with new activities with caution or apprehension. Some of the conflict will be caused by an inner lack of self confidence, for early problems with the father image usually manifest as problems with authority figures later on. The semisquare indicates that there is a self-worth predicament that can be coupled with the sign quality dilemma indicated by the square aspect. Cancer rising indicates a soft approach, a need for love, a positive approach to life, perhaps the ability to nurture others that can be used in a profession. Saturn in Saggitarius suggests that the father early in life was anything but that and as a result Paris has some unresolved father issues that are impeding her adult growth. If Paris is to grow she needs to confront her image of her father and incorporate both of these strong personalities into her being without judgment; just acceptance.

Ascendant square Midhaven
The MidHeaven is the point in the sly where the Sun would be at noon. The quality of the sign placed here in the tenth house at the time of birth symbolizes the nature of your position in the world- status, profession, reputation, recognition and where your experience Authority. That being said since it is in the sign of Aries Paris has a certain boldness to make her way professionally in the world. She would do well in any type of profession that entails some type of pushing, selling or pioneering which could include the military. Holding a leading position in her career is also quite desirable as is having freedom to do things her way. At times she may have to fight pretty hard to maintain or achieve a certain position. This proves to be worth it in the long run, when she is at last out in front. To compensate for this often-hectic outer world activity it is important for her to have a harmonious home life. Making a priority out of this is desirable, and a beautiful home atmosphere is very possible. Here there is a clash between the persona of Paris and the professional that she wants to be.

The Sun and its Aspects:

Sun Conjunct Mercury
Because Paris' Sun and Mercury are both in Cancer this makes her not only act like a cancer but she also talks and communicates like a Cancer. Since Mercury represents the 5 senses as well as the mind, Mercury in Cancer people hear, speak and relate via the 5 senses in an emotional way. Mercury just helps to express the qualities of the sign type that you were born into even if it does not agree with what the Sun wants; this planet helps shine light in a positive way of growth.

Sun Opposing Neptune
There is a feeling of loss and a need for compromise added to it. The father of this child is so involved with his own spiritual growth that he ignores the child. Paris doesn't understand why her father is so distant and removed. When questioning the parents, the child is probably misinformed, for Neptune opposing the Sun often indicates that the father is either romanticized or aspersions are cast in his direction. Paris is confused as to who daddy is and therefore who she is. The world of fantasy, creativity, illusion and delusion are delights for the child. The tendency to go off into a dream world is sometimes hard to avoid.  The sense of this individuals personal reality is distorted in some way-the child feels like she is living a lie. This opposition also makes the child fantastically intuitive and psychic. It's difficult for others to understand these children. Since these people do not know what is expected of them  as far as social behavior is concerned forming love relationships can present difficulties. Communication with others may be delivered on a "mental" plane rather by verbal communication. expectations about relationships may be unrealistic, for the expectations may be full of fantasy. This in itself may prevent relationships from developing for their feelings are too hurt by too many people too often. There may be discomfort in working with the physical body so the physical emotional relationships may be difficult to consummate on the "grosser" levels since love is a spiritual experience. Much of the difficulty can be traced by and back to the father. for when this person is young the father lives in his own private world. The girl child grows up to think that all men should be like her dad. Paris is surprised to find that other adults don't act and react in the same manner similar to dad's. When the energy is understood the aspect can be really creative. Once she finds her creative outlet they love their work, they love to work with their ideas and the enthusiasm is delightful.

Sun Trine Pluto
When these two planets confront each other, two portions of the personality are interacting. The sun represents the " I am " principle in each of us. Pluto represents great transformation, for its rulership is the symbol of transformation and death. As these two to parts of the personality relate to each other they involve the principle of personal growth. Pluto brings obsession, the ability to control and manipulate, as well as the energy of transformation. As long as we hang onto our present life style and our present consciousness, we reach out more often to control others as well as the universe around us. We think that "control" will guarantee that our personal universe will not change. However, the catch 22 about aspects is that we must transform ourselves. The effects of Pluto seem to tie in with the feeling of being uprooted, or overwhelmed by something or someone much larger and stronger than ourselves. We have to learn to trust in the universe before we can let go- and when we let go of control or obsession, we are beginning our rebirth. That being said here is a soul on a constructive trip. This aspect tends to manifest on two levels: either the individual is going along for a ride in this life, a ride that allows one to enjoy all the things of the contemporary culture- the suburban home, the color tv, the joys of mass market entertainment; or the person has the energy and talent to work cooperatively with traditional managemental concerns dedicated to doing something for humanity. In each case the personality is capable of expressing the Sun energies in a constructive way as long as their involved in some kind of group endeavor. Any kind of mass media communication will be successful and fulfilling for there are natural talents for it in the chart. This is a child who was born into an atmosphere where the parents are able to teach her or reach her. The father is cooperative individual who presents the child with an image of an authority figure communicating in a warm way with other authority figures. When dad returns home from work he doesn't present a negative picture of the work world, he doesn't feel isolated as a father; therefore, the child feels more secure.  Other aspects may offset this, and the energy may not be free to flow until the "blocking" aspect is cured.

The Moon and its Aspects:

Moon Trine Saturn
The moon indicates our emotional responses to the various aspects of life, it represents our physical mother during childhood, it indicates how we react emotionally to those close to us. Saturn symbolizes restrictions, feelings of lack, inhibitions, attitudes of self-denial. It also indicates the impact of the father on the psyche. When these two planets interact with each other they indicate the mother and her emotional reactions to her environment and how they are affected by the attitudes of the father during the native's formative years. Whenever there is a contact of the moon and Saturn, the person feels that emotional reactions cannot or should not be displayed; that all authority figures ( the father, other males introduced later in life, as well as any person in authority) can restrict and restrain the emotional nature. Paris arrives in an atmosphere where the father works cooperatively with the mother and visa versa; the parents present a united front even if it is a somber one. The child learns to work through emotional problems; she offers herself carefully in a relationship, for emotions are not treated lightly. The chance of starting a relationship that works through all of the possibilities, that leaves no stone unturned, that explores all its potential, comes out of this aspect. This makes for a careful thinker someone who is reasonable in crisis situations, a person who doesn't fly off the handle in spontaneous reactions. This is a diplomatic personality.

Putting it all together:

So it looks like Paris has to come to terms with her childhood and her perception of her father and what he means to her. there is a lot of hints within her chart that indicate that the father is a source of discomfort and blocked memories that are impeding her growth as an adult. Due to her feelings regarding her father she is prone to be anti-men, or anti anything that reminds her of her father. It seems that she gets her flare for her emotional reactions from her mother because that is how she understood her mother to react.

Paris' Natal Chart... The Big 3

Paris' Natal Chart

I was lucky enough to get permission from my friend Paris to breakdown and discuss her Natal Chart.

Cancer Ascendant/ Capricorn Descendant, Sun in Cancer, Moon in Leo

The Ascendant
(the Moon)

Ascendant in Cancer
When we look at this chart we begin to notice that Paris is a Double Cancer with her moon in Leo. Due to Cancer being her rising sign Paris is a "feeler" which means that she picks up on any and all emotional climates around her with instinctive ease. She has a tendency on picking up others peoples feelings and have a hard time deciding if it is her feelings or someone elses. Cancer usually respond by giving care or sympathy, or needing it- or she simply withdraws into her shell until its safe to come out again. Cancer rising is described as the "Emotional Waste Paper Basket" for it allows you to become "dumped upon" as a result of appearing too available emotionally. With each moodiness being the hallmark of her identity Paris is inclined to attract an "Other"  who is more emotionally controlled, restrained or repressed even. The other might be somewhat older than her, biologically or psychologically, and therefore more adult or worldly. Other provides her with the equipment and technique that make it possible to function in the harsh material world that her childlike persona can blanch at. If other's more mature stance appears cold or calculating to her, though, she will give a commensurate display of fearfulness and/or withdraw. Paris has a dreamy, sensitive and sentimental response to like makes her react negatively to anything that appears to be coldly realistic and unfeeling. But that is what all it is - a reaction that interprets a businesslike and objective approach to things as being alien and unfamiliar, and therefore uncaring. Such a subjective response has at its root a feeling of insecurity that has your mother, father, and childhood as the reason behind it. Paris needs to take a step back and see that this impersonal attitude is the very objectivity, seriousness, and sober sense of purpose that she needs to learn to acquire so as to feel more safe and secure in the world. Paris requires a traditional type of relationship, where each of them has a clear sense of their role and position in it. This may feel restrictive and limiting at first but eventually and paradoxically, this feeling of having knowing your boundaries and responsibilities is what makes you feel secure and protected enough to go out and explore your potentials and make the most of yourself. An open, easy-come-easy-go kind of relationship would not give her this. When or if alone it will be very likely because she has not accepted the limitations or lessons of a relationship in the way outlines above. Without doing this a relationship or other can wither on the vine. Seeking some kind of unrealistic "freedom" can be the culprit behind this and the reason behind that can be a very basic and unconscious distrust of finding any Other whom you can rely on at all. Alternatively, not taking a tough enough "impersonal" stance with Other can leave Paris feeling emotionally exhausted if not on your own.

Sun in Cancer
If the Ascendant tells us who we are trying to be then the Sun placement shows us what we are or who we are. This is our true self; we just hide it underneath the persona of the Ascendant. When we chase and pursue our persona we neglect the person that were are suppose to be.

So now that we have dived into Paris' Ascendant information we see that she is a creature based off of emotional reactions; whether it be her own emotion or someone else's. When we look at the sun we see that Paris' essential purpose to her life is to nurture and care for whatever or whomever she believes needs it. She has an instinct for survival, marked by a sense of what best constitutes protection and nourishment. But what essentially gives her this instinct is your sense of need, sympathy and emotional receptivity. As Cancer is such a female and maternal sign, the women usually become a natural wife and mother, and she meets her own needs through meeting the needs of others. The limitation here is that such a life can become dull and automatic, with the Cancerian priority, home, turning into a prison. However, having someone or something to selflessly care for is the key to being a secure and happy Crab. What were clinging claws, or would clam up at the slightest sign of emotional intrusion, then become a pair of open arms that holds firmly, cradles gently. The acute awareness of another's feelings which negatively can feel threatened and be used to emotionally blackmail, becomes a ray of healing.

Sun in the 12th House
All of this sun energy is centered upon and caused by experiences of the dim and distant past- of this life, womb-life, or even before that. Whether these experiences are felt like heavy shadows or like paradise lost her will must bend itself to clearing out that closet of repressed longings, regrets, and vague reservations. She is open to unseen forces- for good or ill-  and this could also incline towards addictions or strange phobias and notions, but at the positive end you can be inspired artistically or as a channel for spiritual messages. The twelfth house can be the hell of the horoscope or the heaven of the horoscope- everything depends upon your essential integrity of being. Managing all of this can be quite a task and may restrict your life to a degree that is proportionate to how much that closet has not been cleared. In the process, or eventually, you can become a light in the darkness to others who are similarly confined by their fears and weaknesses. Inner peace for one and all is the only ultimate goal for Paris, so meditation, selfless service and psychological awareness( or sometimes practices) are your essential ways of living. Because of your basically reclusive nature, you prefer, to work behind the scenes, go into retreat occasionally, and not be too much in the public eye. Paris' public persona may be different than the inner Paris.

Moon in Leo
The Moon reflects the light the sun is giving off. it shows us how we respond to the others, the world and to ourselves when we are emotionally hurt. It indicates our security needs, the mother, and fear of the unknown. The moon is reflecting what the sun represents: your feeling responses, reactions to "OTHERS" will, your childlike security needs, represents mother, family, survival instincts, sympathy and sense of belonging. Negatively fear of the unknown, insecurity, defensiveness. This represents your SOUL and also gives clues as to your previous life

Paris' reigning need is to receive attention and acclaim. This is most likely owing to the fact that you either did not get enough attention as a child (for probably quite unavoidable reasons), or you got a lot of it and grew to expect it. In the first case, when you do get attention, you may feel uncomfortable and not quite know what to do with it. In the second, you can get disproportionately upset when you aren't noticed or appreciated. In both cases, what Paris does require is a means of getting attention, holding it, and justifying it. Because she does have a generous sense of drama fun and creativity, this should not be too difficult. At the same time, be prepared to take some constructive criticism of your "acts" The child in her, which is precious about being unconditionally admired as a sign of love, must not be allowed to run the show otherwise others could express their discomfort at this in a far more dramatically distressing fashion than merely criticising you. Not surprisingly with the child so strong and alive in you.

Moon in 1st House
This need and emotional disposition of yours is what Paris constantly live by for it is how you immediately respond to all life situations. There is a childlike quality to how she puts herself across, and therefore like a child she can be anything from ingenuously enchanting to acutely annoying. Paris wears her heart on her sleeve for all to see- This is important to bear in mind that others are inclined to take her face value- for better or worse. She has a natural caring approach and a sympathetic touch- particularly since shes a female.

Putting it all Together:

With an overlook at the Big 3 within Paris' chart we see the theme of nurture, caring and giving. For Paris this is truly a part of herself that is undeniable to resist. Not only does she respond to life emotionally; she responds to everything like a hurt child would due to her not getting over all of the things that happened within her childhood. We see a brief glimpse of this when we look at the Sun in the 12th house. Due to not being able to make peace with the skeletons in her closet Paris will continue to lash out at others when she herself is unhappy.
